Description
This is the fully-customizable short-sleeve home kit for Scotland’s 2002-2003 period.
During the 2002-2003 period, the Scottish national team experienced a season marked by ups and downs under the management of Berti Vogts. This era was a mix of friendly matches and crucial Euro 2004 qualifiers, as Scotland aimed to build a competitive team and secure a spot in the upcoming World Cup and 2004 European Championship.
The season began with a 2002 World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands on September 7, 2002. Scotland faced an unexpected challenge, managing only a 2-2 draw despite leading 2-0 at halftime. This result was a wake-up call for the team, highlighting areas that needed improvement. The subsequent qualifier against Iceland on October 12, 2002, saw Scotland bouncing back with a 2-0 victory, showing resilience and the ability to regroup effectively.
In friendly matches, Scotland achieved mixed results. On October 15, 2002, they secured a 3-1 victory against Canada, with the team demonstrating their attacking potential. However, a 0-2 defeat to Portugal on November 20, 2002, showed that there was still a gap to bridge against stronger European sides.
As the Euro 2004 qualifiers started in 2003, Scotland faced Iceland again on March 29, winning 2-1 at home. This was a crucial result that kept their qualification hopes alive. However, a 0-1 away loss to Lithuania on April 2, 2003, dealt a significant blow, emphasizing the inconsistency that plagued the team.
In friendly matches in 2003, Scotland struggled to find form. They suffered a 0-2 defeat to Ireland on February 12 and another 0-2 loss to Austria on April 30. A 1-1 draw with New Zealand on May 27, followed by a goalless draw against Norway on August 20, further highlighted the need for a more cohesive and effective playing style.
One of the most notable fixtures was against Germany on June 7, 2003. Scotland managed a 1-1 draw, showing they could compete with top-tier teams when performing at their best. This match was a testament to their potential and gave the team and fans hope for future matches.
Throughout this period, Scotland’s performances were marked by moments of promise and periods of disappointment. The team showcased their ability to compete with stronger teams but also struggled with consistency and finishing off matches. Under Berti Vogts, the Scottish squad was in a phase of transition, laying the groundwork for future success in international competitions.
Notable Players: Neil Alexander, Graham Alexander, Russell Anderson, Steven Caldwell, Stephen Crainey, Christian Dailly, Callum Davidson, Barry Ferguson, Darren Fletcher, Paul Lambert, Gary Naysmith, Steven Pressley, Colin Cameron, Kenny Miller, James McFadden.

It all started when we were around 5 or 6 years old…
We would go to school in the day, and then go back home. Then, we’d be out and about for the rest of the day. We were playing football with the rest of the kids from around our home all day.
We were playing for hours, and we never stopped, even if our moms called us to get inside. We would yell “10 more minutes!”, right before spending another two hours on the field.
It didn’t matter whether it was sunny, rainy, or there was a snowstorm. We were still playing, from Spring to Winter, every single day.
And we were wearing the same jerseys you can find on our store. We are more than a jersey company…
We want to help you Relive the Memories Through Old-School Jerseys.
