Description

This is the fully-customizable short-sleeve home kit for AC Milan’s 1996-1997 season.

This kit marks the season of the legendary Italian and AC Milan center-back Franco Baresi retiring, and Milan doing the #6 number in his honor. The team had a catastrophic league campaign which saw them finish 11th in the golden age of the Serie A.

The competition was fierce and Milan couldn’t keep up due to some unfortunate signings which ultimately didn’t pan out. The team still didn’t lack quality, but with Capello leaving at the start of the season, it did lack the leadership and guidance. Some of the legendary names to wear this shirt are Dejan Savicevic, George Weah, Paolo Maldini, Roberto Baggio, Edgar Davids, and so on.

It’s obvious that the team had quality, but failed to make an impact in any competition as the team dropped out of the group stage in the European Cup, while only reaching the quarter-final in the Italian cup. This Milan even lost the Supercoppa Italiana at the start of the season, and not even legendary Arrigo Sacchi could fix all the issues once he arrived in the middle of the season.

It all started when we were around 5 or 6 years old…
