Description
This is the fully-customizable short-sleeve home kit for Argentina’s 1993 Copa America.
In the summer of 1993, the Argentine national football team participated in the 33rd edition of the Copa America, held in Ecuador. Under the management of Alfio Basile, Argentina entered the tournament with high expectations, aiming to defend their title as champions from the previous edition in 1991. The team was placed in Group C, where they faced Bolivia, Mexico, and Colombia in the initial phase.
Argentina’s campaign began on June 17 with a narrow 1-0 victory over Bolivia, courtesy of a goal by Gabriel Batistuta in the 53rd minute. The match, held at Estadio George Capwell in Guayaquil, showcased Argentina’s defensive resilience and attacking prowess. Their second group match, played on June 20 at the same venue, saw them draw 1-1 with Mexico. Oscar Ruggeri’s goal in the 28th minute was equalized by Mexico’s Patiño, resulting in a tightly contested game.
The final group stage match on June 23 against Colombia ended in another 1-1 draw. Diego Simeone opened the scoring for Argentina in the 2nd minute, but Colombia equalized shortly after. The match was notable for a double red card incident involving Fernando Redondo and Colombia’s Freddy Rincón, reducing both teams to ten men. Despite the draw, Argentina advanced to the knockout stages as the second-placed team in their group.
In the quarterfinals on June 27, Argentina faced a formidable Brazil side. The match ended 1-1 after extra time, with goals from Müller for Brazil and Rodríguez for Argentina. The encounter was decided by a dramatic penalty shootout, where Argentina triumphed 6-5, with Sergio Goycochea making a crucial save.
The semifinal on July 1 saw Argentina take on Colombia once more. The match ended in a goalless draw, requiring another penalty shootout. Once again, Argentina emerged victorious, winning 6-5 in a tense shootout, with Goycochea playing a pivotal role.
Argentina’s final challenge came on July 4, as they faced Mexico in the tournament’s grand finale. Gabriel Batistuta starred, scoring twice to lead Argentina to a 2-1 victory. Batistuta’s goals in the 63rd and 74th minutes secured the title for Argentina, despite a penalty from Mexico’s Galindo. The victory marked Argentina’s 14th Copa America title, reaffirming their dominance in South American football. The team’s success was built on a solid defense, creative midfield play, and the clinical finishing of Batistuta.

It all started when we were around 5 or 6 years old…
We would go to school in the day, and then go back home. Then, we’d be out and about for the rest of the day. We were playing football with the rest of the kids from around our home all day.
We were playing for hours, and we never stopped, even if our moms called us to get inside. We would yell “10 more minutes!”, right before spending another two hours on the field.
It didn’t matter whether it was sunny, rainy, or there was a snowstorm. We were still playing, from Spring to Winter, every single day.
And we were wearing the same jerseys you can find on our store. We are more than a jersey company…
We want to help you Relive the Memories Through Old-School Jerseys.
