Description

This is the fully-customizable short-sleeve home kit for Uruguay’s 2010 World Cup campaign.

In the 2010 FIFA World Cup, held in South Africa, Uruguay emerged as one of the tournament’s surprise packages, demonstrating resilience and skill that captivated football fans worldwide. Coached by Oscar Tabárez, Uruguay’s squad blended experienced veterans with exciting young talents, forging a team capable of challenging the world’s best.

Uruguay was drawn into Group A alongside France, Mexico, and hosts South Africa. Their campaign began with a solid defensive display in a 0-0 draw against France. This was followed by a dominant 3-0 victory over South Africa, featuring a brace from Diego Forlán, including a penalty, and a stoppage-time goal by Álvaro Pereira. Uruguay secured their spot at the top of the group with a 1-0 win over Mexico, courtesy of a first-half goal by Luis Suárez.

In the Round of 16, Uruguay faced South Korea. Suárez was the hero, scoring twice, including a spectacular late winner that clinched a 2-1 victory and a place in the quarter-finals. The quarter-final match against Ghana became one of the most dramatic encounters in World Cup history. After a 1-1 draw, with Forlán scoring for Uruguay, the match went to penalties. A crucial save by Fernando Muslera and a cheeky Panenka penalty by Sebastián Abreu secured Uruguay’s passage to the semi-finals with a 4-2 shootout victory.

Uruguay’s semi-final clash with the Netherlands was a hard-fought battle. Forlán scored a stunning long-range goal, and Maxi Pereira added a late consolation, but Uruguay ultimately fell 3-2. Despite the defeat, Uruguay’s spirit and determination were lauded by fans and pundits alike.

In the third-place play-off, Uruguay faced Germany in another thrilling match. Goals from Edinson Cavani and Forlán kept the game competitive, but Uruguay was edged out 3-2. Forlán’s five goals in the tournament earned him the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player, a testament to his exceptional performances.

Uruguay’s fourth-place finish was their best World Cup result since 1970, and it reinvigorated football in the nation. The team’s tactical discipline, combined with the attacking flair of players like Forlán and Suárez, left a lasting impression. The 2010 squad, through its gritty and entertaining displays, restored Uruguay’s reputation as a footballing powerhouse on the global stage.

Notable Players: Fernando Muslera, Diego Lugano, Diego Godín, Jorge Fucile, Walter Gargano, Mauricio Victorino, Edinson Cavani, Sebastián Eguren, Luis Suárez, Diego Forlán, Álvaro Pereira, Juan Castillo, Sebastián Abreu, Nicolás Lodeiro, Diego Pérez.

Main Points

  • The jersey is 100% polyester. It’s breathable, and made for a life on the move.
  • Fully customizable with the name and number of your favourite player or even yours! Just choose the Custom Jersey Option and then message us your desired name and number or write them in the order’s notes at checkout.
  • Replica (Fan) Version. In football jerseys, there are two types of jerseys, and two kinds of qualities. There is the Replica Version, also called Fan or Stadium version, as well as the Player (or Match) Issue version – which is what players actually wear. The Replica is meant for fans and is the entry-level option – but is still very high quality, while the Authentic version is made for players and features different, higher quality materials.
  • Tighter fit: make sure you choose the right sizing. We recommend buying one size bigger than you usually wear. This will ensure the jersey will fit.

Sizing Guidelines

This jersey comes in five sizes, which have a tiny difference: they’re a smaller fit. Our suggestion is to pick your size 1 size bigger than you usually would. If you usually wear an M, pick an L. If you usually wear an S, pick an M.

Sizing Normal S to XXL

It all started when we were around 5 or 6 years old…

We would go to school in the day, and then go back home. Then, we’d be out and about for the rest of the day. We were playing football with the rest of the kids from around our home all day.

We were playing for hours, and we never stopped, even if our moms called us to get inside. We would yell “10 more minutes!”, right before spending another two hours on the field.

It didn’t matter whether it was sunny, rainy, or there was a snowstorm. We were still playing, from Spring to Winter, every single day.

And we were wearing the same jerseys you can find on our store. We are more than a jersey company…

We want to help you Relive the Memories Through Old-School Jerseys.
