This is the fully-customizable short-sleeve away kit for Brazil’s 1956 World Cup Campaign.

Brazil won the first of their five World Cup titles in 1958, putting in some incredible performances at the sixth edition of the quadrennial tournament in Sweden. A Seleção had never gotten to the final of the World Cup prior to their sixth outing at the competition, getting eliminated in the group stage in the inaugural edition in 1930, reaching only the first round in 1934, finishing third in 1938, losing the final of the 1950 edition to Uruguay and only getting to the quarterfinals in 1954.

Vicente Feola-managed and Hilderaldo Bellini-captained Brazil were drawn in Group 4 with England, the USSR (Soviet Union), and Austria, and they started the campaign with a 3-0 win over the Austrians. José Altafini bagged a brace, while Nílton Santos scored the other to help the team to a comfortable victory. The Three Lions held the South Americans to a goalless draw, and their last group game ended in a 2-0 win over the Soviet Union, thanks to a Vavá double. Pelé’s 66th-minute goal helped them to a 1-0 win in the quarter-final against Wales, and that set up a meeting against France in the semi-finals.

Brazil strolled to a 5-2 win, with Pele scoring a hat-trick after Vava’s and Didi’s goals, and the French being reduced to 10 men after 36 minutes had a huge say on the result. Veteran centre-back Robert Jonquet broke his leg after a clash with Vavá, and France had to finish the game without him and a replacement as substitutions were not allowed at the World Cup until 1970.

They also defeated Sweden by the same scoreline in the final, with both Vava and Pele scoring twice, while Zagallo grabbed the other. Pele, who emerged as the best young player of the tournament (17 years old at the time), ended the campaign with six goals, while Vava bagged five, but it was France’s Just Fontaine that won the Golden Boot with 13 goals. Brazilian quintet Hilderaldo Bellini, Nílton Santos, Garrincha, Didi, and Pele made the team of the tournament.

We accept returns for intact jerseys that still have their tags on. If you have removed the tags and used the jersey we won’t accept your return.
If it’s a mistake on our end, and the shirt is damaged or has defects, we pay the return shipping. If you simply don’t like it and want to return it, you pay the shipping. Another small way of highlighting our superior customer service.
