Description
This is the fully-customizable short-sleeve home kit for the Italy 1970 World Cup Campaign.
Italy’s performance at the 1970 World Cup in Mexico was one of determination, resilience, and memorable moments, all encapsulated in their iconic blue jerseys. Managed by Ferruccio Valcareggi, the Azzurri navigated the tournament with a blend of tactical discipline and flair, culminating in a runner-up finish, their best result since winning the tournament in 1938.
In the group stage, Italy showcased their defensive prowess, conceding no goals in their three matches. They began their campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Sweden, thanks to a goal from Angelo Domenghini. This was followed by two goalless draws against Uruguay and Israel. Despite the lack of goals, Italy’s disciplined defense ensured they topped their group, advancing to the knockout stages.
The quarter-finals saw Italy face host nation Mexico. Despite an early setback with a Mexican goal, the Azzurri displayed their attacking capabilities, securing a convincing 4-1 victory. Gigi Riva and Gianni Rivera were the stars, with Riva scoring twice and Rivera contributing a goal, alongside an own goal by Mexican player Gustavo Peña.
The semi-final against West Germany is remembered as one of the greatest matches in World Cup history. Played at the Estadio Azteca, the match saw five goals scored in extra time, with Italy ultimately triumphing 4-3. Roberto Boninsegna opened the scoring, but the match will forever be remembered for its dramatic extra-time period. Goals from Tarcisio Burgnich, Gigi Riva, and a decisive strike by Gianni Rivera secured Italy’s place in the final.
In the final, Italy faced the formidable Brazil team, led by Pelé. Despite a valiant effort, the Italians were outplayed, losing 4-1. Roberto Boninsegna briefly equalized after Pelé’s opening goal, but Brazil’s relentless attacking trio, combined with their midfield maestro Gérson and captain Carlos Alberto, proved too much for the Italian defense.
Italy’s 1970 World Cup journey was marked by tactical acumen, legendary matches, and the emergence of new footballing heroes. Though they fell short in the final, the Azzurri’s performance solidified their status as one of the premier teams in international football.

It all started when we were around 5 or 6 years old…
We would go to school in the day, and then go back home. Then, we’d be out and about for the rest of the day. We were playing football with the rest of the kids from around our home all day.
We were playing for hours, and we never stopped, even if our moms called us to get inside. We would yell “10 more minutes!”, right before spending another two hours on the field.
It didn’t matter whether it was sunny, rainy, or there was a snowstorm. We were still playing, from Spring to Winter, every single day.
And we were wearing the same jerseys you can find on our store. We are more than a jersey company…
We want to help you Relive the Memories Through Old-School Jerseys.
